What you need to do...

This is your opportunity to be at the forefront of an exciting new dawn for animals! Please, empower yourself - and animals - by getting involved!

It's really important that you contact the candidates in your constituency to ask them to complete the PAD manifesto questionnaire. PAD has already contacted many of the candidates, but you are more likely to receive a response than us because candidates are particularly sensitive to the concerns of potential voters. Even if the candidate has already responded, please contact them yourself because it makes them realise that animal protection is an important issue for voters.

The response you elicit also plays a vital role in helping us to inform the public about the best candidate to vote for to help animals. Finally, it will provide a record of the successful candidates' promises, so that they can be held accountable in the next Parliament. So, for example, if they have agreed with the proposal to apply Freedom of Information to animal experiments, we can put pressure on them to honour that commitment.

Finding your candidates

Search for your constituency and candidates by entering your postcode. Once these have been found, you need to enter your name and address. This enables the automatic generation of a letter to each candidate addressed from you.

Collating the names and contact details of candidates is a complex process. If there are any details missing, you might be able to help. You may have received a leaflet from a candidate or seen information in your local media. Please contact us if you can help fill the gaps!

Sending the questionnaire

You can then email the candidates (if they have an email address) to ask them to complete the PAD manifesto questionnaire (which they will be able to access from this website).

If any candidate has a postal address, you can also print off a letter and questionnaire to send to them.

To maximise the chances of getting through to the candidates, it would be ideal to do both if possible. You will also be able to edit the letter in order to personalise it - once again this helps to increase its impact.
